Zurich: Stock exchange to become Swiss China Center
A Swiss China Center is to be built in the building of the stock exchange, which is moving out in spring 2017. This is the idea of Robert E. Gubler, PR consultant and honorary president of the Cantonal Trade Association of Zurich, reported by the Tagesanzeiger.
The aim of the Swiss China Center is to link Switzerland's SME economy with that in China, while at the same time attracting a broad public. A presentation of Chinese products as well as stores and restaurants are planned. An international Chinese school is also to become part of the China Center.
The owner of the building is the Pension Fund of Civil Servants BVK. The pension fund did not disclose how far the plans for a China center have progressed. Initiator Gubler is currently looking for investors. He expects a binding commitment from a Chinese investor in the next few weeks or months. (ah)
