Baufreunde Zurich invests 100 million at Lake Constance
The Genossenschaft der Baufreunde Zürich wants to invest over 100 million Swiss francs in four projects of HRS Real Estate AG on the Saurer WerkZwei site in Arbon (TG). A total of 199 apartments are planned for all age groups, as well as apartments with care facilities. Realization is planned in stages.
"Detailed planning is underway on construction sites A, C and D, and the associated building applications will be submitted at the appropriate times." Michael Breitenmoser, Head of Development Saurer WerkZwei at HRS Real Estate AG
The Baufreunde Zürich cooperative currently owns around 600 residential units in the city of Zurich and recently made its decision to invest on Lake Constance. In order to be able to offer its cooperative members affordable housing, another 199 apartments for all social and age groups are to be built on the Saurer site in Arbon in the canton of Thurgau. Due to the high land prices, the cooperative was looking for new opportunities outside the city of Zurich.
The planning on the individual construction sites in detail:
- Site A: 24 residential units for younger target groups are being built at Hamelplatz in an extension to the Werk2 hotel.
- Building site B: Here, HRS Real Estate AG and Baufreunde Zürich are building around 40 apartments with a view of the lake.
- Building site C: Here, the project "Living in old age" will be realized in cooperation with Vivimus AG. 59 assisted living apartments with care options and an additional 18 care rooms plus a range of in-house services (e.g. concierge service, restaurant, indoor swimming pool, fitness room, laundry, hairdressing salon, etc.) will be offered. Parts of this infrastructure will also be open to the public. The St.Gallen office of Andreas Pfister Architekten GmbH was commissioned with the planning of this sub-project.
- Building site D: Four interconnected apartment buildings with 76 modern apartments are planned here, directly on the new Saurer WerkZwei park strip. The Zurich office of Steib & Geschwentner Architekten AG is responsible for the planning.
The contractual basis for the cooperation will now be developed after the positive decision of the Baufreunde Zurich, writes HRS. Detailed planning is already underway for construction sites A, C and D, and the associated building applications will be submitted at the appropriate times, explains Michael Breitenmoser, Head of Development Saurer WerkZwei at HRS Real Estate AG.
