Charles Vögele AG, which is listed on the SIX Swiss Exchange, justifies its move with the more difficult conditions in the retail trade. The company itself owns the building near Bahnhofstrasse. The new tenant there is to be Migros with a SportXX store. A rental agreement has already been signed, according to the "NZZ am Sonntag".

Only recently, the fashion group had announced its intention to withdraw completely from Belgium, while at the same time launching a redesign of its existing stores. In Zurich, the stores in Altstetten and Oerlikon will remain after the closure of the main branch on Sihlstrasse.

The Group currently has 761 sales outlets in seven countries (Switzerland, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Austria, Slovenia and Hungary) and generated gross sales of CHF 955 million in 2015. (mr)
