According to a report by the daily advertiser with declining visitor frequencies and therefore no longer wants to enter into a long-term lease agreement. Starbucks does not give a reason for the closure. However, according to the newspaper report, the rent is quite high at CHF 120,000 per year, which corresponds to a price per square meter of around CHF 700.

Peter Rothenhäusler, president of the "Zürich 1 rechts der Limmat" neighborhood association, confirmed to the daily advertiserthat the number of visitors to the Niederdorf has decreased. Especially from Monday to Wednesday it has become rather quiet, which is not a good development, especially for the restaurant operators. In the retail sector, it is mainly chain stores in the mid-price segment that have moved in recently, while some long-established stores have moved away. According to Rothenhäusler, there is still an interesting mix of stores on Rindermarkt, Neumarkt, Spital- and Froschaugasse. (ah)
