Geistlich site: start of construction for second stage
The demolition of the existing buildings on the Geistlich site in Schlieren has been underway since the beginning of October. Once this work has been completed, the second construction phase of the site development will begin. The investors are Helvetia Insurance and Geistlich Immobilia AG.

Geistlich Immobilia has received approval from the relevant authorities for the demolition of the factory buildings on the former industrial site in Schlieren. Now that the asbestos removal has been completed, the above-ground demolition work will be carried out from October 10 until spring 2017. The underground buildings and installations will then be removed and the subsoil remediated. The reason for this work is projects by investors Geistlich and Helvetia, which are about to be submitted for planning permission.
New buildings are planned for a total of 320 apartments, commercial space on the first floors and a retirement center for the private operator Tertianum AG. The buildings will also complete the full 600-metre length of the publicly accessible Rietpark and connect the new development area with Schlieren station.
The Geistlich Areal private design plan forms the planning basis for the phased development of the former industrial site. The "Magnolia" project with 137 condominiums has already been completed. In further stages, the entire site is to be developed as an urban living space with a variety of uses and infrastructure. (ah)
