Kriens: Green light for Kleinfeld stadium project
The municipality of Kriens has issued the building permit for the new stadium in Kleinfeld. The plan is for a sports building with a shell use; the main investor is the Lucerne Pension Fund.

Construction work on the new stadium of SC Kriens in Kleinfeld is already scheduled to start at the beginning of February, with the building to be opened in August 2018.
The stadium will include a grandstand with 900 covered seats and 2,300 standing places, as well as a restaurant. A commercial shell use is also planned, for which two main tenants have already been found in the form of the Kriens Sports School and a fitness center.
The new building will cost a total of around CHF 22 million, with the Lucerne Pension Fund (LUPK) contributing CHF 15 million as the main investor. The municipality of Kriens is contributing 4.2 million, with the remaining investment sum to be financed by the tenants, SC Kriens and with Sporttoto funds from the canton of Lucerne.
The Kriens Residents' Council approved the development plan in two readings over the course of last year, and the municipality issued the building permit at the end of 2016.
