The abl housing estate in the Maihof quarter dates back to the 1940s. Now, part of the houses are to be renovated and extended, while another part will be demolished and rebuilt. The abl presented the project in detail to the members a few days ago, the SRF Regional Journal reported on it. The investment volume will be CHF 84 million.

The abl has already tackled the renewal and densification of its settlement some time ago. Already at the end of 2014, Phalt Architekten emerged as the winner of an architectural competition.

If abl members approve the project in a ballot, construction work on the first stage is scheduled to begin in the fall. Completion of the overall renovation is scheduled for 2023/24.
