Radisson Blu plans hotel in Geneva
The Rezidor Hotel Group plans to open a Radisson Blu hotel in Geneva. HRS Real Estate is responsible for development and realization, and construction is being carried out according to plans by Burckhardt + Partner.
The Radisson Blu Geneva, located between the city center and Genève Cointrin Airport, is scheduled to open in 2021, Rezidor reports. The business and conference hotel will have 250 guest rooms and suites. Also planned are a 350-square-meter ballroom, eight meeting rooms and eight high-end boardrooms, which will be connected via a centrally located conference foyer. An all-day dining restaurant as well as a hotel bar and lounge, a wellness area with fitness center and wellness/spa on a total of around 600 sqm are also planned.
According to Elie Younes, Executive Vice President & Chief Development Officer of the parent company Rezidor Hotel Group, the Geneva location is of the greatest strategic importance for Radisson Blu: "Geneva is a city with a strong international network and is therefore also one of the absolute hotspots for the European and even global hotel industry. We are very happy to soon be represented here with our stylish Radisson Blu brand and thank the Swiss investor for his confidence in us." HRS Real Estate SA Geneva is responsible for the development and realization of the project. Burckhardt + Partner AG, one of Switzerland's leading architecture and general planning firms, has been entrusted with the construction of the building.
Geneva becomes Radisson Blu's sixth location in Switzerland
Rezidor already operates four Radisson Blu branded hotels in Switzerland: at Zurich Airport and in Basel, Lucerne and St. Gallen. In addition, the topping-out ceremony for the next new building in Andermatt was celebrated in November. The Geneva property will thus be the sixth location in Switzerland. In total, there are almost 300 Radisson Blu in 69 countries worldwide. The target group of the hotel brand is business travelers, weekend guests and city travelers. The Radisson Blu hotels are located in prime locations in major cities, airports and vacation destinations worldwide.
