Swiss Prime Site (SPS) has completed the land purchase for the planned residential and care center of the Tertianum Group in Richterswil. The project is to be built in the form of a public-private partnership (PPP).

Swiss Prime Site is planning a large project in Richterswil in the area of "Living in old age" as well as apartments. The already existing residential and care center "Etzelblick", operated by the Tertianum Group, which belongs to SPS, is also part of the overall project. It is to be replaced by a new building with around 60 care places. In addition to the care services, assisted living and other forms of housing will be offered on the site in the future.

The "Gartenstrasse" property, on which the residential and care center will be built, is part of the core zone of Richterswil and is centrally located. The train station, shopping facilities and the shores of Lake Zurich are just a few minutes' walk away. Construction is scheduled to start in 2018, with an estimated construction period of three to four years.

PPP with "role model character

Tertianum will take over the operation of the new residential and care center. For this purpose, it has signed a service agreement with the municipality of Richterswil. This means that Swiss Prime Site, together with Tertianum, guarantees that the additional demand for care places in the municipality of Richterswil will be covered.

Last year, the political municipality of Richterswil decided to sell its care center project to Swiss Prime Site. In November 2016, the necessary vote was held on the sale planned by the municipality. After the positive vote of the voters, the transfer of ownership to Swiss Prime Site then took place.

René Zahnd, CEO of Swiss Prime Site, believes that this type of public-private partnership has "far-reaching exemplary character for the future. Hans Jörg Huber, mayor of Richterswil, adds: "Swiss Prime Site's comprehensive project convinced us." He says he is pleased to have a modern care center with assisted living in the municipality in the future.
