Lugano: Swiss Prime Site plans senior citizens' residence
Swiss Prime Site Immobilien has acquired a plot of land in Paradiso, directly on Lake Lugano. An exclusive senior residence is to be built there.
The total of five plots purchased by Swiss Prime Site Immobilien are located directly on the lake and at a distance of around 1.5 kilometers from the historic center of Lugano. On the lake side is the "Hotel du Lac", which has been closed since 2011. On the mountain side, separated from it by the lake road, there is a villa without any substance worth preserving. Both properties are to be demolished as part of the new construction project.
On the site, Swiss Prime Site Immobilien and the Tertianum Group intend to create an exclusive senior citizens' residence with a comprehensive range of services. Divided into two buildings ("Seehaus" and "Berghaus"), a total of 60 apartments and a nursing department with 40 nursing beds will be built.
High-quality apartments with a view of the lake are being built in the "Seehaus". In addition, a restaurant with terrace, various meeting zones and a reception and wellness area are planned here. The "Berghaus" will house the nursing department, further apartments, a doctor's practice and an underground car park. An underground corridor will connect the two buildings.
The residence will be called "Du Lac - Lugano Paradiso" and is expected to attract local, cantonal as well as international interested parties.
Swiss Prime Site: Increased presence in southern Switzerland
Peter Lehmann, CEO of Swiss Prime Site Immobilien AG, says: "With this project, we are strengthening our presence in southern Switzerland. Ticino has gained additional attractiveness due to the Gotthard Base Tunnel. The location of the properties with lake access is also unique and ideal for a residence with international appeal."
With the acquisition of "Parco Maraini" in Lugano, which was communicated in January 2017, and the "Du Lac - Lugano Paradiso" project now underway, Tertianum will have seven facilities in Ticino in the medium term.
