HPE rents on HIAG site in Meyrin
HIAG has signed a lease agreement with Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) for space on "The Hive" site in Meyrin (GE).
According to HIAG, HPE is leasing around 3,500 sqm of space in a building constructed in 1968 that is already on the site. The occupancy is planned for the first half of 2019. This means that around 40 percent of the building with around 8,200 sqm of usable space has been leased.
HIAG plans to modernize the existing building fabric and building services in the fall of 2017 and invest approximately CHF 24 million in the conversion of the building. "This means that the building is ideally equipped for the future and at least meets the standard of a new building for IT companies," says Yves Perrin, the site developer responsible at HIAG.
The modernization will enable the existing building to fit ideally into the surroundings of "The Hive" site, which is already home to the EMEA headquarters of HP Inc. and Hewlett Packard Enterprise in a new building constructed in 2016, according to the site developer.
Companies and organizations such as CERN, Louis Vuitton, Chopard, Richemont and Fedex are located in the neighborhood. From HIAG's point of view, the advantages of the location include its proximity to Geneva Airport and the excellent public transport connections.
