Solothurn: SPA property "Couronne" reopens
The former Hotel Krone in Solothurn, owned by the Swiss Prime Investment Foundation (SPA) since the end of 2015, is reopening as the four-star boutique hotel "Couronne" following a conversion.

How the Solothurn newspaper reports, the Swiss Prime Investment Foundation has invested around CHF 18 million in the conversion of the hotel wing of the "Couronne" and the Leist wing with eight apartments and commercial space.
When completed with a garage on Seilergasse, the property will offer 37 rooms and suites as a 4-star boutique hotel from the end of the year, 28 of which will be in the main wing. The hotel also includes a restaurant and bar. In addition to a large hall, a terrace and the outdoor terrace (boulevard) overlooking the main street, the house also has seminar and meeting rooms of up to 140 seats.
The former "Krone" is one of the oldest inns in Switzerland. It was first mentioned in a document almost 600 years ago. The "Couronne" is operated by the Baseltor cooperative, which already runs three other establishments. The hotel in Solothurn is expected to generate annual sales of five million CHF at 70 percent occupancy.
Overall, the property's occupancy rate is 95 percent; according to the SPA, the eight apartments in the Leist wing were particularly sought after.
