Novavest buys SBB conference centre
Novavest Real Estate AG has acquired the "Centre Loewenberg" in Murten (FR), an SBB training and education center.
According to Novavest, the property changed hands as part of a sale-and-rent-back transaction. For this purpose, the listed real estate company has concluded a 15-year leaseback agreement with SBB until April 2032.
The net rent was set at CHF 2.75 million, according to a Novavest statement, and the purchase price is CHF 34 million. The new owner also undertakes to invest a further 20 million in the existing buildings by probably the end of 2020.
The lease covers the entire facility with approximately 12,000 square feet of land consisting of eight main buildings totaling 17,500 square feet of rentable space and 159 off-street parking spaces.
The "Centre Loewenberg" conference center has 30 rooms that can accommodate up to 200 people depending on seating, an open foyer, an auditorium and a catering facility. There are also various play and sports facilities on the premises, as well as 192 guest rooms in two residential pavilions.
