St. Moritz: Luxury hotels resist clinic project
After the government of the canton of Graubünden cleared the way for a hotel and clinic project in St. Moritz, the Kulm Hotel and Badrutt's Palace Hotel filed an appeal against it with the Graubünden Administrative Court.

In May, the government of Graubünden approved the Serletta South land use plan adopted by the municipality of St. Moritz. This creates the basis for the realization of a new Grand Hotel as well as a new Klinik Gut on the Serletta slope below Via Serlas. At the end of 2015, the majority of the people had already voted in favor of the construction project.
Six extensive complaints were received from neighboring property owners against the land use planning, which were essentially rejected. The Graubünden State Chancellery stated at the time that it was aware that the view from some neighboring properties would deteriorate in view of the planned building cubes. However, the cantonal government - like the municipality of St. Moritz - rated the public interest in a new hotel and clinic complex higher than the opposing private interests.
Criticism: buildings may be built too high
How the online portal specialized in the hotel industry htr.ch first reported, the Kulm Hotel and the Badrutt's Palace Hotel have lodged an appeal against the government's decision with the Graubünden Administrative Court. However, with the heights approved in the local planning, which allow buildings of almost 30 meters from street level, a sustainable development of the Serletta Nord area is ruled out, the two hotels further state. Land reserves of the two hotels and the municipality are located on Serletta Nord.
The two hotels want the health hotel to be sized and designed so that the area across the street can also be developed sustainably.
