Motel One Zurich opened in Kreis 1
The German budget design hotel group has opened its second property in Switzerland with Motel One Zurich on Brandschenkestrasse.
The 394-room hotel in the extensively remodeled old Selnau Post building offers various room categories from 16 to 45 square meters, some of which also have balconies. Guests can stay at the new Motel One Zurich from CHF 169 for a single room and from CHF 184 for a double room. The Motel One Group had already inaugurated its first Swiss property in Basel in summer 2016.
In addition to the new Zurich property, the Motel One hotel group has 57 hotels and around 15,500 rooms in Germany, Austria, the UK, Belgium, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands and Switzerland (as of June 30, 2017). Founded in 2000 and headquartered in Munich, the company generated revenue of 185 million euros in the first half of 2017 with an average occupancy rate of 77 percent.
In the coming years, market entries are planned in Spain (Barcelona) and Italy (Milan). According to the German hotel group, the national and international growth to a total of 87 hotels with 25,369 rooms has already been contractually secured.
