Aesch: No referendum on the Stöcklin site

The neighborhood plan Stöcklin-Areal does not come before the people - an announced collection of signatures was not successful.

As the "Basellandschaftliche Zeitung" writes, the citizen of Aesch, Erich Brunner, has not implemented his June announcement to collect signatures against the planned project. No list of signatures had been submitted to the municipal administration in Aesch (BL) within the granted deadline for the Stöcklin neighborhood plan, according to the local newspaper. Brunner criticized the planned new buildings, with up to 40 meters in some cases, as too high.

The Riesch residents' council had already approved the neighborhood plan in February and referred it to the relevant expert committee. The owner of the site on the banks of the Birs in Neu-Aesch is Stöcklin Logistik AG. It is planning ten new buildings there. Three of the new buildings are to have eleven to 13 stories.

According to the municipalities of Aesch and Reinach and the neighborhood plan, around 244 residential units and approximately 18,000 square meters of commercial and service space are planned. The Aesch municipal council approved the Stöcklin-Areal neighborhood plan in mid-December 2016. The municipal assembly there still has to approve the plans.
