Site H is the fifth of eight stages of the Europaallee, which will continue to grow until 2020. The architecture was designed by e2a eckert eckert architekten from Zurich. The 25hours Designhotel Langstrasse with 170 rooms had already opened on the construction site in spring.

The mix of uses on Baufeld H includes a hotel, movie theaters, event venues, classrooms, offices, apartments, and retail and restaurant space. According to SBB, the project is also intended to be a building block on the city of Zurich's path toward a 2,000-watt society. Building Area H has been awarded the DGNB Silver, Minergie P-Eco and GI - Good Indoor Climate labels.

At the corner of Langstrasse and Lagerstrasse, the 25hours Hotel Langstrasse stands as a solitaire, followed by the main building with two towers of different heights on a base. The 40-meter-high residential tower houses 41 apartments, which have already been occupied. The Kulturhaus Kosmos with six movie theaters, restaurant, forum, stage, auditors and book salon is located in the base and is operated by filmmaker Samir and partner Bruno Deckert.

Overall Europaallee project to be completed by 2020

In the same building as the Kulturhaus Kosmos, the Juventus schools will also start the new semester next fall. The first floors are home to novel store concepts such as the two design collectives "Die Macherei" and Altherr/Weiss, Ego Movement E-Bikes as well as the recently opened LAB100, a creative space for workshops and events, to find.

The last three stages of the large-scale Europaallee project are currently under construction: construction sites B and F (occupation in 2019) and construction site D (occupation in 2020). The design of the public space with Europaplatz and Gustav-Gull-Platz will also be completed in 2019/20. SBB is investing around CHF 200 million in construction area H alone. According to SBB estimates, some 14,000 people will spend time in Europaallee every day.
