Geneva: First CitizenM hotel in the planning stage
The international hotel group CitizenM will open a boutique hotel with 144 rooms at Rue du Marché 40 in Geneva in 2020.

The property on Rue du Marché has been owned by PSP Swiss Property since July 2002. Until the end of 2016, the premises were mainly used as offices. Since then, the building from the 1970s has been undergoing extensive renovations. According to PSP, which is investing around CHF 30 million in the renovation, the work is set to continue until mid-2020.
In close cooperation with CitizenM, the decision was made to reposition the property with a focus on hotel use, writes the listed real estate company. The "outstanding location and excellent public transport connections" would speak in favor of a hotel. The remaining rental space, some of which has already been let, will be made available as retail space.
The hotel group is already represented with hotels in Amsterdam, Glasgow, London, Paris and Rotterdam as well as in New York and Taipei. In Switzerland, CitizenM will celebrate its premiere with the Geneva location.
