Au-Wädenswil: Canton Zurich buys development site
In its meeting on November 8, 2017, the Government Council of the Canton of Zurich approved the purchase of around 10,880 square meters of building land in Au-Wädenswil in the "AuPark", a development site of the Intershop Group.
The purchase is being made with a view to the possible establishment of a secondary school on the left bank of Lake Zurich, according to a media release from Intershop. A private design plan procedure is being carried out for the property. In addition to the middle school, the "AuPark", the former AuCenter site, is to be home to just over 200 new apartments with complementary services for the entire neighborhood. In addition, a large public park is to be realized.
For this transaction, Intershop has entered into a conditional land purchase agreement with the Canton of Zurich at a purchase price of CHF 19.8 million. The purchase agreement is subject to the approval of the Zurich Cantonal Council for the establishment of a secondary school in the Au-Wädenswil area and the obtaining of the legal force of the "AuPark" design plan. The further decision of the cantonal council is expected in the course of 2018, the legal force of the design plan in 2019.
On November 24, 2017, the public participation for the project "AuPark" will start for 60 days.
