Geneva: Ibis hotels open at Palexpo

In mid-November, the Accor hotel group completed and commissioned its new Ibis Budget and Ibis Styles properties at Geneva's Palexpo convention and exhibition center.

The two new hotels add 227 rooms to Accor's Geneva portfolio. While the two-star Ibis Budget Genève Palexpo Aéroport has 112 hotel rooms, the three-star Ibis Styles Genève Palexpo Aéroport has a total of 115 rooms within walking distance of the airport.

Accor now has a total of six Ibis Styles in Switzerland, three of which are in Geneva alone, with the others in Basel, Bern and Lucerne. The general manager of the two new Ibis properties is Thierry Abel, who has been working for the company in Geneva in this position at various hotels since 2004.

Losinger Marazzi SA acted as total contractor for the building ensemble in the extension of the administration building on the Palexpo site. The groundbreaking ceremony was held in April 2016. Together with the adjacent four-star Starling Hotel, around 720 rooms are now available for congress visitors and travelers at the Palexpo site.
