With 3,542 votes in favor and 1,925 against, the voters of the city of Baden approved the building loan of CHF 98.5 million at the end of November. This clears the way for the new secondary school center. It will be built on the site of the current "Burghalde" district school and will comprise a total of 78 classrooms and specialist rooms, two gymnasiums, a refectory and a terraced outdoor area. All existing buildings will be replaced by new buildings, the only exception being the building realized in 1930 by architect Otto Dorer, which is now to be renovated.

Markstein AG is providing external project management on behalf of the city of Baden. The construction work, which will take around three years, will begin in August 2018.
