Bülach: Tertianum plans residential and care centre

Total contractor and project developer Steiner and service provider Tertianum have signed a contract for senior apartments and nursing rooms in the newly developing Glasi Quarter in Bülach North.

In Bülach North, a new district with around 560 apartments, businesses and stores will be created over the next few years in the form of the GlasiQuartier (visualization: Steiner).

Over the next few years, a new quarter with around 560 apartments, commercial premises and stores will be built on the site of the former Bülach glassworks. Steiner AG, the real estate developer and general contractor, has now been able to secure Tertianum, a group company belonging to Swiss Prime Site, as the first major tenant. Tertianum will be the first tenant in the new Glasi Quarter operate a residential and care center with 62 apartments for senior citizens and 40 rooms for people in need of care. In addition, there will be a restaurant on the first floor at one of the four planned locations. The Tertianum Group currently comprises 76 establishments throughout Switzerland with 1,800 apartments and apartments and 2,900 nursing beds.

According to the Steiner media release, Tertianum's residential offering is "aimed at older people who are independent but would like to benefit from services such as freshly prepared menus every day, regular cleaning of the apartment, care aids and a 24-hour emergency call system." As the need for care increases, apartment guests could transfer to the nursing unit without having to leave their familiar surroundings. Guests at the residential and care center will also be able to take advantage of a wide range of stores and services - a medical center, for example, is planned - that will be built in the new Glasi district.

The building application for the Glasi district was submitted at the end of June 2017. Steiner's development partners are Baugenossenschaft Glattal Zürich (BGZ) and Logis Suisse AG.
