In summer 2017, the "milet" project by the team of planners led by Büro B Architekten emerged as the winner of a project competition. It is to be worked on further, and to this end the previous planning credit of CHF 795,000 has now been increased to a project planning credit of 4.99 million. Bern's voters are to vote on the investment credit in the first quarter of 2020.

The winning project "milet" proposes four buildings arranged around a common center and oriented to the rectangular structure of the existing quarter. The four buildings meet the requirements for a 2,000-watt site. In addition to commercial and communal areas and 102 apartments, they also offer a library, a basic school class and a day school. Access to all uses is exclusively via the courtyard. The library, neighbourhood use and commercial space are arranged along Reichenbachstrasse, while the day school and the basic school are located in the southern building.

The developer of the development is the City of Bern or the Fund for Land and Housing Policy. All apartments are to be rented at cost. At least 20 percent of the apartments will be low-cost apartments with a low standard of construction.
