Zurich: Allreal to build office building on Hardstrasse
A six-storey office building is to be built at Hardstrasse 301 in Zurich-West. Allreal is realizing the project by Caruso St John Architects as a replacement building for a property from the 1960s.

According to Allreal, the planning application for the new replacement building on the Escher-Wyss site was submitted to the City of Zurich in mid-December 2017. Demolition work is scheduled to start in April 2018, with construction expected to begin at the end of 2018.
With the new building, Allreal is replacing a property built in 1962 that no longer meets today's requirements. The new building has a rentable area of around 5,800 square meters. Of this, 4,900 sqm is office space on the upper floors and 900 sqm is commercial and storage space on the first floor and basement.
Allreal will add the office building to its portfolio of investment properties once it is completed, which is scheduled for 2020.
From November 2016 to May 2017, the real estate company carried out a study commission with eight architectural firms for the new replacement building, which was won by the project from Caruso St John Architects.
