Basel: New location for the health department

The Basel-Stadt Health Department will move to a new location at Malzgasse 30/32 in mid-2019. The current headquarters, a classicist property at St. Alban-Vorstadt 25/27, will then be available for a new use. The government council plans to decide on the subsequent use in the course of the year.

For some time, the Health Department has been looking for a location where it can centrally house the four offices of the Departmental Staff, Health Care, Medical Services and the Addiction Department under one roof. This has now been found in the property on Malzgasse, which belongs to the Civil Service Insurance Fund of the Canton of Zurich (BVK).

The property, which has been leased, offers very good conditions in terms of location, building structure, floor plan and space, the health department says. The new location will accommodate around 200 workplaces.
