Lucerne East: Pius Portmann becomes area manager
The Rontal municipalities are coordinating their settlement and mobility development. The new area manager for the region will be Pius Portmann, who will take up his post in the spring.
The seven municipalities of Buchrain, Dierikon, Ebikon, Gisikon, Honau, Inwil and Root form the LuzernOst living space - a development focus in the canton of Lucerne. There are currently 40 site developments underway that could attract up to 9,000 additional residents and 7,000 additional employees. Major projects that are planned or already under construction include the Rontalzentrum and the MParc site with the Qube quarter.
To coordinate urban development qualities and mobility across municipalities and with the various stakeholder groups, LuzernPlus founded the LuzernOst area management in 2013 on behalf of the Rontal municipalities. Pius Portmann is taking over the area management mandate from Nathalie Mil and will support the municipalities with center planning or master plans. He will also network the interests of the seven municipalities, the canton, the transport association, business development and landowners and site developers. Portmann will also be involved in the implementation of the measures from the overall traffic concept for Lucerne East, which is currently undergoing public consultation.
"In Pius Portmann, we have found a civil and industrial engineer with many years of project and management experience," says Armin Camenzind, Managing Director of LuzernPlus. Portmann has held a management position at ewp Bucher Dillier AG since 1999 and grew up in Ebikon.
