Andermatt: Apartment house "Eisvogel" in smart studio concept
The apartment building "Eisvogel", which Andermatt Swiss Alps is realizing together with Swiss Property, is being built according to a smart studio concept. With smaller residential units and communal areas, the aim is to attract a younger audience.
Studios with 34 to 91 square meters of living space are to be built in the newly planned apartment building, in addition to which communal areas are planned for the residents, such as a 190 square meter "community area" with kitchen, dining areas and "chill-out" zone, a spa with fitness area on over 100 square meters and a bar. Swiss graffiti artist Ata Bozaci is helping to design these community spaces.
The studio concept will create living space with a "unique price-performance ratio," according to the initiators of the project. The project is aimed primarily at a younger urban audience. The studios are already being marketed, and construction of the apartment building will start in the spring. The building is scheduled for completion in summer 2019.
The Andermatt Swiss Alps resort, or Andermatt Reuss vacation village as it is now known, will comprise around 500 apartments in 42 buildings, 28 chalets, congress facilities, an indoor swimming pool and an 18-hole golf course when completed. In addition, there will be six hotels in the four- and five-star range, including the five-star deluxe hotel The Chedi. In addition, the Andermatt and Sedrun ski areas will be merged to form the SkiArena Andermatt- Sedrun.
