Ebikon: Up to 340 apartments to be built on the Weichle site
A new quarter with apartments and small businesses is planned for the Weichle site in Ebikon.
On the Weichle site, where the MParc, the old Landi and Vino Vintana are currently located, up to 340 new apartments are to be built. The area, which is currently used for commercial purposes, is to be converted into the Qube quarter with residential use and small businesses. According to the municipality of Ebikon, "a completely new quarter with living, working and meeting spaces" will be created.
In Quartier Qube, apartments for different types of households are planned, as well as studios, offices and small commercial spaces. In the guideline project, which serves as the basis for the development plan, the majority of the upper floors are allocated to residential use. Three- and four-bedroom apartments are planned across all buildings. Above-grade first floors along the streets are planned for public, community and commercial uses.
There are also plans for a 55-meter high-rise building and an adjacent terrace building. The second floors of these buildings will house office space for service providers such as doctors' practices. In addition, 265 parking spaces are planned. The development was designed by Hosoya Schaefer Architects together with Vulkan Landschaftsarchitektur on behalf of Migros Lucerne.
The public display will take place until May 8, 2018. After any objections have been dealt with, the citizens of Ebikon can vote on the development plan.
