Basel: Canton buys residential building from Novartis
The canton of Basel-Stadt buys the property Egliseestrasse 60 from the Novartis AG foundation for education, training and education.
The property, which is in good condition, was put out to open tender on the real estate market and the canton won the bid, according to a statement from the government council.
The three-story building has large and small rooms, kitchen, recreation and office rooms, and recreation rooms, and provides living space for at least 33 people. It was used by Novartis as a residence for trainees.
The company will also lease the property back from the canton for the next maximum five years. After that, the canton intends to use it itself, in particular to provide affordable housing for disadvantaged people.
