Basel: CS-Fonds and Implenia realize Parking Kunstmuseum
Construction of the underground parking facility for the Kunstmuseum in Basel is due to start at the end of this year. The client is the real estate fund Credit Suisse Real Estate Fund LogisticsPlus, and Implenia is implementing the project as a total contractor.
The new underground parking garage under St. Alban-Graben in Basel will provide a total of 350 parking spaces in the immediate vicinity of the Kunstmuseum, other major cultural institutions and the Freie Strasse shopping boulevard. Credit Suisse Real Estate Fund LogisticsPlus is investing more than CHF 40 million in the construction project.
According to Implenia, the project will be built as a closed bored pile wall using the cover construction method. During the entire construction period, the streetcar service between St. Alban-Graben and Wettsteinbrücke will be maintained, albeit at times with a single lane. Construction is scheduled to begin in December, with completion expected in the summer of 2021.
