The Prixforix is awarded to the most attractive facades in Switzerland and is considered the "Oscar" of the Swiss facade industry.

The 78-meter-high Grosspeter Tower, named after the area of the same name in Basel's St. Alban district, is being built near the Basel SBB train station. The six-story base of the building, which is 22 stories high in total, houses an Ibis Styles business hotel. Around 11,000 sqm are earmarked for office use; The anchor tenant with almost half of the space is the chemical and pharmaceutical company Bayer. The building is scheduled to be inaugurated in June of this year.

In order to be able to use the interior of the high-rise building efficiently and flexibly, Burckhardt + Partner integrated the supporting structure into the facade level. The façade also includes solar modules manufactured specifically for the building - the resulting photovoltaic system is around 6,000 square meters in size. "A power plant in one of Basel's most visible locations. Discreet, effective and consistent, solar technology is tailored to the building envelope here," was the verdict of the Prixforix jury.

First place was won by Baufeld G in Europaallee, which was already completed in 2015 and designed by ARGE Graber Pulver Architekten and Masswerk Architekten; the client is SBB Immobilien. Second place went to the Hilti headquarters, designed by giuliani.hönger.
