Aarau: Demolition work for new stadium begins
HRS Real Estate has begun demolition work at Torfeld Süd near the Aarau train station. This has now become necessary so that the already existing building permit does not expire.
Construction of the new soccer stadium is to start when legally binding building permits have been issued for the four planned high-rise residential buildings, HRS reports.
The parties involved in the project - the city of Aarau, HRS, FC Aarau and meinstadion.ch - had reached an agreement in March after long quarrels. on the "Plan B" for the stadium project agreed. Plan B provides for the cross-financing of the new stadium for FC Aarau with four high-rise buildings. Originally, a shell use with a shopping center was planned, but HRS backed out of this for economic reasons.
The parties involved want to stick to the schedule, the statement continues. Accordingly, the stadium is to be built by the 2022/2023 season.
