The rehabilitation clinic will have 150 beds and is scheduled for completion by 2023. The aim is to offer patients from Zurich a simple and close transition from the acute hospital to rehabilitation, the city of Zurich says.

The project is being developed under the joint management of the Health and Environment Department and the Valens Clinics Foundation. The city wants to give a plot of land in building rights for the cooperation, and the Valens Clinics Foundation is to build and operate the new rehabilitation clinic.

An architectural competition is now being held. At the same time, the building lease agreement will be prepared and the future medical and operational cooperation will be further deepened. The result of the competition is to be presented at the beginning of 2019. The building lease agreement is also to be submitted to the municipal council for approval in early 2019.
