Zurich: Start of construction for office building on Escher Wyss site
Construction of a new office building on the Escher Wyss site in Zurich West is about to start. Allreal is realizing a project by Caruso St John Architects.
A six-story office building is being built at Hardstrasse 301 in Zurich West. The new building will replace a property built in 1962, Allreal announced.
Of the total 5,800 sqm of leasable space in the new building, 4,900 sqm is office space on the upper floors, 580 sqm is commercial and storage space on the first floor and 320 sqm is storage space in the basement. Depending on the utilization of the existing space, between 290 and 370 workplaces can be realized in the building. The project also includes an underground garage with 21 parking spaces.
Preparatory and demolition work will start in mid-June 2018. Construction is scheduled to start at the beginning of November 2018, and the property is expected to be completed in the fall of 2020. Allreal intends to add the office building to its portfolio of investment properties after completion.
