The Unterfeld area in the municipality of Baar is considered one of the largest land reserves still available in the canton of Zug. A development is to be built on the northern area, providing space for up to 1,000 jobs. The necessary partial revision of the zoning plan and the building regulations has now been approved by the municipal assembly with a large majority.

Originally, a large residential development was to be built on the adjacent Unterfeld Süd site - but this was rejected by voters in February 2017. Completely new plans are now being drawn up here: New urban planning concepts are being developed in a participatory process. The result of the urban planning study should be available by summer 2018. The study is to define a basic structure for individual building sites and clarify the framework conditions for the further planning steps.
