The development partners Baugenossenschaft Glattal Zürich, Logis Suisse and Steiner want to build a new urban quarter on the site of the former Bülach glassworks, comprising a mix of affordable cooperative apartments, apartments for singles and shared apartments, and condominiums.

A substantial proportion of the space is earmarked for commercial premises, with the main focus on stores, craft businesses, offices and restaurants. In addition, a hotel, a care center with apartments for the elderly, and a crèche will be built on the Glasi site.

The urban design for the Glasi district was created by Duplex Architekten from Zurich.
