Lenk: Course and sports centre to be sold
The course and sports center in the municipality of Lenk (BE) is to be sold. A public tender for the sale in building rights will start in August 2018.
The Federal Department of Defense, Civil Protection and Sport DDPS, represented by armasuisse Immobilien, and the Lenk local authority each hold half of the course and sports center (KUSPO). The army wants to reduce the number of its properties for financial reasons, so they also want to part with the KUSPO.
The lease agreement with the Compass Group, the current operator, is not affected by the efforts to sell, according to the municipality of Lenk. It will be continued. The KUSPO should also be an "important tourist service provider" in the future.
The Kurs- und Sportzentrum Lenk has room for 592 guests in four-bed and multi-bed rooms and, according to the municipality, records a good 50,000 overnight stays per year. The KUSPO has a restaurant, and the property also includes various sports fields and a multipurpose hall. In winter, a cross-country ski trail runs right next to the house.
The population will have the final say: A possible sale must in any case be decided by the municipal assembly.
