Zurich: Next step for ZSC Lions Arena
The planned ice hockey arena of the ZSC Lions in Zurich Altstetten has taken the next hurdle: The city council puts the private design plan and the BZO partial revision into force.

In Altstetten, the ZSC Lions are planning a new ice hockey and sports arena at the "Untere Isleren" site between the freeway and the railway track area. However, the realization of the project is not possible with the current zoning in the planned scope, so the BZO partial revision and the private design plan had to be tackled. The two planning instruments were put on public display in 2017, adopted by the municipal council at the end of January 2018 and approved by the Canton of Zurich's construction directorate in June 2018. No appeals have been received.
Now the city council has decided to put both planning bases into effect as of October 15, 2018. This is the basis for the construction section of the city of Zurich to deal with the building application of the ZSC Lions. The City Council resolution will be open from September 1 to October 1, 2018. Within this second appeal period, it is still possible to appeal against the entry into force, but no longer against the contents of the BZO partial revision and the design plan. (ah)
