The railroad station area in Wettingen is around 35,000 square meters in size. The landowners are SBB Immobilien, Swiss Post and the companies Debrunner Acifer and Lägern-Plastic. Planning for the redevelopment of the area, which has so far been used primarily for industrial and commercial purposes, began back in 2010, and now the site development is to be advanced with a partial change in the land use planning and a design plan.

According to the municipality of Wettingen, the area between the railway tracks, Güterstrasse and Seminarstrasse is divided into eleven building areas. It offers space for 800 to 1,000 new residents. In addition to residential use, around 10,000 square meters of work space is to be created, for example in the service, retail, gastronomy or small business segments. The supply of Bike+Rail spaces will be increased to at least 500 parking spaces, it is further stated.

Public participation will continue until September 27, 2018. (ah)
