RIMC Schweiz Hotels & Resorts AG announces that a long-term lease agreement has been signed with the hotel's owners. The Moxy Hotels will comprise 86 rooms and will open on Neue Jonastrasse in Rapperswil-Jona.

There have been several hotel closures in the city in recent years, although the demand for business and leisure guests has increased, according to RIMC. With the Moxy Hotel, the destination is thus getting back long-desired guest rooms.

Marriott International launched the brand in 2014. There are currently 25 Moxy hotels in Europe, with just as many in the pipeline.

RIMC Schweiz Hotels & Resorts AG currently owns the Four Points by Sheraton in Zurich's Sihlcity, the Hotel Meierhof in Horgen and the Modern Times Hotel in Vevey. Andrea Jörger, partner and managing director of RIMC Switzerland, says: "We are constantly looking at new projects, the Rapperswil-Jona location is an ideal fit for our portfolio, and the Moxy concept is ideal for the size, location and positioning of our new hotel." He said the hotel group intends to continue growing, with a focus on A-locations in B- and C-locations.

RIMC Switzerland was founded in 2006 as a subsidiary of the Hamburg-based RIMC International Hotels & Resorts Group. The group currently operates around 35 hotels in eight countries. (ah)
