Ostermundingen: Soon start of construction for the BäreTower
In Ostermundigen, an attractive center for commerce and private individuals is being built - the BäreTower is part of it. The building permit was issued in mid-July. Project developer is Halter AG, overall services, investor Helvetia Insurance. Construction is scheduled to start before the end of the year.

The BäreTower is considered an important step for the development of Ostermundigen. The project plans to offer public and private uses at a convenient location: Apartments, offices, gastronomy as well as a hotel business. The investor talks, which have been going on for some time, have now come to a successful conclusion with the signing of the contract with Helvetia.
Helvetia will invest in the entire project with all its uses and also realize the apartments above the panorama restaurant as attractive and partly exclusive rental apartments. As an alternative, Halter AG had in the past also envisaged a sale in condominium ownership for these apartments. "However, for the sustainable management and positioning of the BäreTower, financing from a single source by Helvetia represents the ideal case," explains Ede I. Andràskay, Managing Director of Halter Developments. Helvetia is an institutional investor operating throughout Switzerland with extensive experience in projects of this kind.
Lease agreements have already been signed with the anchor tenants for the planned hotel and restaurant use in the BäreTower. According to the information, Bern-based Sportgasto AG will take over the restaurant operations. Sportgastro AG operates various locations, such as the steakhouse The Beef in downtown Bern or the restaurant at Golfpark Moossee. The hotel business will be run by the design hotel operator Harry's Home, which already has hotels in Munich, Vienna, Graz, Linz and Dornbirn; the concept is aimed at families and business customers.
Halter AG, Gesamtleistungen is the general contractor responsible for the realization of the project. In the coming weeks, the preparatory work for the start of construction will take place; the actual start of construction will be on October 10, 2018. If everything goes according to plan, the first tenants should be able to move into the high-rise building at the end of 2021.
