The CSA wants to renovate its property at Aeschenvorstadt 72. Together with the neighboring building at Aeschenplatz 3, the property forms the entrance portal to Aeschenvorstadt and thus also to Basel's city center. At six stories, the office building is currently one story lower than its counterpart, and it also has no covered outdoor area. In order to align the two buildings, the property at Aeschenvorstadt 72 is therefore to receive an additional floor and a cantilevered canopy.

The basis for the development plan was the renovation project of the architectural firm Diener & Diener, which refers to the original building from 1966 from both a material and a design point of view, according to the government council. The renovation is intended to enhance the urban quality and make the outdoor space more attractive. (ah)
