Steiner plans commercial building Zowo in Zollikofen
Steiner AG is to construct the Zowo commercial building in Zollikofen near Bern. The building permit has now become legally binding, and construction is scheduled to start next year.
The Zollikofen Work (Zowo) project will include about 8,000 square meters for office and commercial uses and will be built in the business district of the community of 10,000 residents. Negotiations with anchor tenants and investors are currently underway, Steiner informs. The go-ahead for the building's realization is expected in 2019, with completion scheduled for 2021, he adds.
The Zowo is well connected to the transport network, emphasizes Steiner: the Zollikofen train station is just a few minutes' walk away, and by car it takes around five minutes to reach the A1 freeway or just over ten minutes to Bern. In the immediate vicinity of the planned development, there are also opportunities for eating and shopping, and a walk in the forest is "virtually possible right on the doorstep," says Steiner. (ah)
