Zurich: Immofonds buys Haus zum Pfauen
Immofonds has acquired the historic Haus zum Pfauen at Rämistrasse 28/30 in Zurich. The seller was the community Hans and Peter Jecklin, which was advised by SPG Intercity Zurich.
The Haus zum Pfauen was built in 1837 in the building type of the Baumeisterhaus; it is located in the immediate vicinity of the Zurich Kunsthaus and the Schauspielhaus. In the 1890s, a piano house was established there; since then, the property was the parent house of the Jecklin Music House and was considered an important part of Zurich's cultural life. With its small concert hall in the basement, it was also a popular meeting place for musicians.
After Musikpunkt AG gave up the tradition-steeped location in summer 2017, the community commissioned Hans and Peter Jecklin, as owners of the SPG Intercity Zurich property, to find a buyer for the property. In a closed sales process, the bid was accepted by Immofonds Immobilien AG. According to the new owner, it is planned to put the building to a new use after the lease expires in summer 2019.
"A historic building in such a central location is rarely sold and is correspondingly attractive for investors," comments Béatrice Gollong, Head Investment and Consulting at SPG Intercity Zurich, on the transaction. (ah)
