This year, the founding family sold the Felsenau AG brewery to a new owner, but kept the land around the brewery. According to a report by the Confederation A development with 90 to 100 rental and owner-occupied apartments is now planned for the site. Halter AG wants to buy the building plots from the current owners once the planning phase is complete and realize the development itself.

According to the report, an architectural competition was held with five offices, but the results are not yet public. Construction is to take place both along the Strandweg and on the slope behind the brewery's historic brick buildings. The architects were asked to plan a beer garden on the site, as well as naturally designed open spaces and a public footpath through the area.

As the brewery is located in an industrial and commercial zone, the zoning plan and development regulations would have to be amended before construction could begin. The necessary referendum will take place in 2021 or 2022 at the earliest. (ah)
