Herzogenbuchsee: Fenaco site to be built over
The Fenaco agricultural cooperative is selling its Bahnhof West property in Herzogenbuchsee (BE) to Areal Herzogenbuchsee Zug AG. The new owner is planning a development.

According to Fenaco, the property near the railway station in Herzogenbuchsee covers around 50,000 sqm. The cooperative is parting with the site because it is pursuing a strategy of selling off properties that are no longer sufficiently used in the medium term.
In recent years, various options have been examined together with the municipality of Herzogenbuchsee, including the sale of the site to the municipality, says Fenaco. However, as these plans did not materialise, the intention to sell was intensified in January 2018. Areal Herzogenbuchsee Zug AG, a subsidiary of Sayano Family Office AG, which is backed by the Ketterer family of investors from Rüschlikon (ZH), finally won the bid for the property. The amount of the purchase price was not disclosed.
According to a report by the Bernese newspaper the new owner plans to locate apartments and services on the site. However, the right to use the site will remain with Fenaco until at least 2021, according to the cooperative. Currently, branches of various business units are still located there. (ah)
