The "Elefant" is the former bottling building of the former brewery on the Bernese Gurtenareal near Wabern train station. Gotham is renting the entire building and plans to open a coworking center in the summer of 2019, according to a statement from PSP Swiss Property. On a total of 5,500 sqm, 400 workplaces and an event space for more than 600 people are to be created. In addition to the classic coworking offer, Gotham also wants to operate a music lab and a studio.

PSP Swiss Property has owned the Gurten site since 2004. The tenant mix will be "significantly enriched" by the lease to Gotham and will increase the attractiveness of the area, the company says. In addition to the Gurtenareal, PSP owns another twelve commercial properties with a total of around 43,000 sqm of leasable space in Bern. (ah)
