Fenaco opens logistics halls in Germany
LahrLogistics, a joint venture between the Fenaco agricultural cooperative and the German cooperative ZG Raiffeisen, has opened two new logistics halls in Lahr, southwest Germany.
The two new halls would triple the capacity of the logistics center opened in 2015, Fenaco says. The total storage capacity has been expanded by 30,000 to 45,000 pallet spaces. The Lahr facility handles goods for deliveries to Landi Switzerland's 280 home and garden stores, as well as stores in Germany supplied by ZG Raiffeisen. Landi has another logistics site in Dotzigen (BE).
According to the joint venture, it has invested 14.7 million euros, the equivalent of around CHF 16.65 million, in the expansion of the two halls. The total investment to date, including land, amounts to 31.1 million euros (CHF 35.2 million). With 12.8 hectares, the site still offers space for four more halls.
Fenaco holds a 74 percent stake in the joint venture and ZG Raiffeisen 26 percent. (ah)
