Schlieren: LimmiCura care center can be realized
The Limmattal Hospital Association can implement its new LimmiCura building project. The electorate of the sponsoring municipalities has approved the construction of the care center.

According to a statement by the Limmattal Hospital Association, the approval of the new nursing center was 87.3 percent with a voter turnout of 42.4 percent. The population thus approved the commitment credit of CHF 65 million as well as the equipment of the care center including day center and rehabilitation floor.
The hospital association now intends to pursue the new LimmiCura construction project without delay. After completion of the implementation project next year, construction of the nursing center is to begin in early 2020, following the demolition of the old acute care hospital (high-rise building). It is scheduled to open in spring 2023.
According to the Limmattal Hospital Association, the nursing center will continue to provide nursing and medical services in the region in the future. For the sponsoring communities, LimmiCura is a complementary element in healthcare provision in the Limmat and Furt valleys, as well as in the neighboring regions, with offers in the area of complex and palliative care situations, dementia-related illnesses, transitional care and relief offers for caring relatives.
