Basel: Residential development planned on Burgfelderstrasse
The Bündnerstrasse housing cooperative and the Neue Wohnbaugenossenschaft Basel will build 125 apartments on the Burgfelderstrasse site. The Basel government council has approved the transfer of the site in building rights.
The Neue Wohnbaugenossenschaft Basel and the Wohngenossenschaft Bündnerstrasse will jointly develop the site on Burgfelderstrasse, the government council announces. Just before the border with France, in the immediate vicinity of a family garden area and opposite the Waldighoferstrasse streetcar stop, 125 apartments will be built in a residential complex of twelve apartment buildings, and a parking garage with 50 spaces is also planned. The Alte Zollhaus is to be used for semi-public purposes in the future.
The Sonnenfänger project by Nord GmbH Architekten emerged as the winner from a competition process for the new building. The building application has now been submitted, the government council added. According to the Bündnerstrasse residential cooperative, the first occupancy of the apartments is planned for 2020/2021. (ah)
